A playful workshop to experiment with drawing and speaking Gaeilge (with tea, light lunch + snacks)

Sat 16th November | 11am - 1.15pm | Cork city

Join artist, designer and cook Steph Sheahan for a sociable, playful and creative morning in Cork city where we will experiment with drawing and speaking Gaeilge.

You do not have to be ‘good’ at drawing or speaking Irish to attend. Just bring your curiosity and whatever few words (cúpla focal) you have. I love drawing as a practice as it really helps me to slow down, connect with the present moment, the beauty of the day-to-day and my creative self. I just want to share this lovely practice. And, only very recently I have felt compelled and inspired to return to relearning my native language (mo theanga dhúchais) and I feel inspired to share this current interest with people.

We won’t be speaking Irish for the entire workshop, both English (Béarla) and Irish (Gaeilge) will be interwoven (fite fuaite) throughout the morning. The main intention is to have fun, connect and experiment.

Tea and nibbles will be provided on arrival and we will finish over a warming winter bowl of soup (anraith) and sourdough bread (arán).

Drawing materials (paper, pens, pencils, markers, pastels) will be provided. I will bring some drawing prompts but feel free to bring along any of your favourite objects to draw if you like - these can turn out to be lovely talking pieces!

Bígí linn/join us!

Any questions do feel free to get in touch.

This workshop will take place at 4 Tuckey Street, Cork - a warm, creative and soulful space in the heart of Cork City.

Some notes:

Please do get in touch if you would like to attend but require a reduced rate.

Bookings are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend on the day, you are welcome to give your booking to someone else.
