RED WOOL WOMAN

A collaborative performative photography project with Liam O’ Sullivan. The project took place in Dunmore East in 2016 while we were living there. Red Wool Woman was inspired by my Great Grandmother Mary Anne, after she came to me in a waking dream while I had my eyes closed during an afternoon nap. She was standing in a red wool jumper right up next to the pane of glass in my back door. She was looking in at me while I stood in the kitchen looking out. It was a really impactful experience that has changed my relationship with the colour red, and has deepened my connection with my ancestors.
